{cirvant}: Pronounced: \ˈsər-vənt\
From growing up in the housing projects, to losing his mother to HIV/AIDS at the age of 12, to being sexually abused as a child, life was hard trying to find love and acceptance with no success. Feeling the thirst for an authentic, loving relationship, he set out on a spiritual journey to quench it. Through this journey, his gift of poetry and music has been cultivated; thus the heart of Cirvant is birthed.
Cirvant’s passion is to spread the Hope and Freedom he is experiencing himself to others who are “Thirsty.” Desiring to see Justice for the voiceless, poor and oppressed
His story:
Born to teen parents in Nashville, TN. He and his two younger sisters were raised by their mother, Deborah French, a single parent until she died of HIV. Wounded: After the death of his mother the family was separated. He spent the remainder of his teen years in and out of trouble. Broken: Not long after his mother’s death he was molested for the first time, spawning a downward spiral of promiscuity and self loathing. Troublemaker: In school he became known as a trouble maker resulting in him dropping out school. Religion: After becoming a Christian and eventually a Licensed Minister he found himself trapped in a system. Struggling with his identity. Hiding behind a religious mask.
Life had been filled with attempts to fill his thirst for something real with things that were only short term fixes.
In encountering Jesus in a new way he found a way of living that pulled at his heart and his true self, tugging at who he was behind the mask he wore, a thirst quencher. Since then he has been on a mission to get Free, live Justice and lead others to the same Well.
His Passion:
His childhood has had a profound effect on who he is today. The struggles and mistakes of his life have fueled him. Cirvant’s heart is to use what he has learned and experienced to help others. Using his gifting of Motivational Speaking, Poetry and Music to bring awareness and freedom ; to carry the message of Justice for those whose voice cannot be heard.
